New Territory is a master-planned community inside Sugar Land, and we work there regularly. We handle spray foam, attic insulation, wall insulation and insulation removal. Tell us what is going on in your home and we will tell you plainly what we think it needs.

What is particular about insulation in New Territory

New Territory opened in 1989, so most homes here were built from the late 1980s onward. That matters for insulation. Homes of that age often have attic insulation that has settled, thinned out or been disturbed by later wiring and HVAC work. If your upstairs rooms run warm or your air conditioner never seems to rest, the attic is the first place we look.

The community sits in eastern Fort Bend County, with U.S. Route 90 along the northern edge and the Brazos River forming part of the southern boundary. Being near a river means humid air is a constant. Moisture-laden air moving through gaps in the ceiling, around recessed lights and along top plates carries heat and dampness into the house. Sealing those gaps often does as much as adding more material.

New Territory was annexed into Sugar Land on December 12, 2017, but it was built as its own planned community. Many streets share similar floor plans and builders, which helps. A fix that works on one house is often a good starting point for the neighbour's.

Insulation services available in New Territory

We offer four main services in New Territory. Each one links to a page with more detail on how the work goes.

Spray Foam Insulation covers open-cell and closed-cell foam. It seals air leaks and insulates in one step, which suits roof decks, rim joists, crawl spaces and new construction. Open-cell foam is lighter and softer. Closed-cell foam is denser and resists moisture better. Which one fits depends on where it is going.

Attic Insulation covers blown-in insulation, radiant barrier, attic air sealing, attic ventilation and duct insulation. For a house from the 1990s or 2000s, this is usually the most useful place to start, because the attic is where most of the heat gain happens.

Wall Insulation covers batt insulation, soundproofing insulation and garage insulation. It helps with garage rooms that get hot, shared walls that carry noise, and renovations where walls are open.

Insulation Removal covers removing old, wet, contaminated or damaged insulation, spray foam removal, attic cleaning and sanitizing, and rodent proofing. Sometimes the right first step is taking out what is already there.

Signs the insulation in your New Territory home needs attention

Some signs are easy to spot. Rooms over the garage or upstairs bedrooms that feel several degrees warmer than the rest of the house usually point to thin or uneven attic insulation. Cold or warm spots along exterior walls can mean missing batts or gaps.

Other signs are less obvious. Dust streaks on insulation show where air is moving through it. Flattened, stained or clumped material suggests moisture. Droppings, chewed material or tunnels point to rodents, and in that case the old insulation should come out, not just be topped up.

If your ducts run through the attic and sweat in summer, they likely need insulation or sealing. Wet ducts can drip onto the ceiling below and cause stains that look like a roof leak but are not.

FAQ

Insulation questions from New Territory

It depends on the attic and your goals. Blown-in insulation with air sealing is often enough for a standard vented attic. Spray foam makes more sense when you want to seal a roof deck or insulate an awkward space. We look at your attic before recommending either.

Sometimes. If it is dry and clean, new insulation can often go over it. If it is wet, contaminated by rodents or badly compressed, removing it first is the better choice.
