Pleak is a small village in Fort Bend County, on Texas State Highway 36 south of Rosenberg. We work there from Sugar Land, so there is no office in Pleak itself. We drive out, look at the building and give you a plain recommendation.

Insulation work in Pleak, Fort Bend County

Pleak covers about 1.9 square miles, and almost all of that is land. Only a small share is water. Highway 36 runs through it, 4.5 miles north to the center of Rosenberg and 8 miles south to Needville. Homes here range from lots at the edge of town to properties with outbuildings, garages and workshops that also need to be kept cool.

What matters for insulation is the climate more than the map. Summers on the Texas Gulf Coast are long, hot and humid. Attics bake, air conditioners run for months, and warm moist air finds every gap in the ceiling and walls. That is the main thing we plan around in Pleak: keeping heat out of the living space and keeping humid air from getting into insulation where it can sit.

We do not have a record of when each Pleak home was built, and we will not guess. Older houses often have thin or settled attic insulation and few air seals. Newer ones may have enough material but poor coverage around the attic hatch, recessed lights and duct boots. A visit tells us which one you have.

Spray foam and attic insulation for Pleak homes

Most Pleak calls start in the attic, because that is where a house gains the most heat. We offer two main services for that space, and which one fits depends on the roof and what is already up there.

Spray foam on the roof deck or floor

Spray Foam Insulation comes as open-cell or closed-cell foam. Open-cell is softer and lighter and works well in conditioned attic spaces. Closed-cell is denser, adds some rigidity and resists moisture better, which is why it is often chosen for metal buildings, crawl spaces and shops. Both seal air leaks as they cure.

Blown-in material, air sealing and ventilation

Attic Insulation covers blown-in insulation, attic air sealing, a radiant barrier, attic ventilation and duct insulation. In many houses, sealing the gaps first and then adding depth to the insulation does more than adding material on its own.

Wall, garage and removal work

Walls are harder to reach than attics, but they matter. Wall Insulation includes batt insulation in open framing, soundproofing insulation between rooms and garage insulation. A garage that shares a wall with the house can pull heat into the living space, and it is a common place to start.

Sometimes the right move is to take material out. Insulation Removal covers spray foam removal, attic cleaning and sanitizing, rodent proofing and emergency insulation replacement after damage. If an attic has been fouled by animals or soaked by a roof leak, new insulation over the top only hides the problem.

We name these four services because they are what we do. If your project does not fit one of them, we will say so on the phone.

Insulation questions from Pleak

It depends on what is in the attic now. Often the answer is air sealing plus more blown-in insulation, or spray foam on the roof deck. We look first and then recommend one.
